Programme

The scientific programme for the International Biophysics Congress 2027 is currently being developed. Further details on sessions, symposia and the programme structure will be announced in due course.

Plenary Speakers

Meet the confirmed plenary speakers of the International Biophysics Congress 2027. Additional speaker profiles will be added as they become available.

Prof. Stefan Hell

Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences, Göttingen & Max Planck Institute for Medical Research, Heidelberg, Germany

Pioneer of super-resolution fluorescence microscopy and Nobel Laureate in Chemistry. His work fundamentally changed the limits of optical microscopy and enabled imaging beyond the diffraction barrier.

Prof. Ferenc Krausz

Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München & Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics, Germany

His research focuses on laser physics, attosecond science and time-resolved metrology, with applications ranging from ultrafast light-matter interactions to biomedical research.

Prof. Hideki Kandori

Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan

His research focuses on photoreceptive proteins, rhodopsins and advanced spectroscopic methods, contributing to both fundamental biophysics and applications in optogenetics.

Prof. Joan-Emma Shea

University of California, Santa Barbara, USA

Computational biophysicist studying biological self-assembly, intrinsically disordered proteins, amyloid fibrils and biomolecular condensates.

Further Plenary Speakers
